Impatient Heart

Impatient Heart

Time covers me like a cage of sorrow

It falls off in pieces of debris

I try to catch it

Time eludes me

I want so much, too fast

Never had, but always desired

Chances of achieving, nil

Place this lonely heart at the bottom of the barrel

Dive in deep

Grasp, hold, envelop

It’s mine to give

Only yours to receive

At the bottom of the barrel

As an end note to all I’ve done

A final offering to what was once us
